of dowry, marriageable girls from ultra-poor families are given extensive training for six months in Sewing, Embroidery, Preparation of all kinds of dishes including fast foods, Poultry & Livestock rearing, Basic health care, etc. The object is to make the girls income generating individuals so that they may be married off without dowry. As a pilot project, 18 girls were trained in 2009.

Girls of marriageable age from ultra-poor families are trained for 6 months in Tailoring, Embroidery, Livestock-rearing, Basic Health, etc. After training each girl is given a foot-driven sewing machine and some cash.

Goals Reached

A group of eighth-graders from a Los Angeles School raised funds for “Restore Eye Sights to 500 Bangladeshis” project that is being displayed in website: They donated the money to Karmirhath.

Our Goal was to make $250, which was successfully done Our first bake sale raised about $70 The second time we gained about $130 Our last bake sale achieved about $100 This totaled our donations to $300
